Exact same thing happened to my sister in Paris -- some guy did not like her outfit (legs too revealing) and he started punching her face. I slammed the guy to stop the attack, and his head hit the concrete and knocked him out cold. My intention was not to hit his head on the ground, but this was my immediate natural reaction to stop the assault. Both the assailant and I were arrested. He was taken to hospital and released from custody within 24 hours. I was in jail for 5 days and missed MY OWN WEDDING and am still dealing with the legal repercussions 6 months later. The issue (according to the prosecutors) is that my slam was a life threatening action to the man. I've already spent almost $35,000 on legal fees ($85,000 if you include the dream wedding that didn't happen), all because an extremist religious guy thought my sister was violating the Kuran or whatever. The want me to pay him restitution now!
