Agressive animals, hostile squatters, respiratory risks and unsound structures. You never know what happens when venturing into an abandoned building. In June 2022, Chris visited the abandonned westing house electric factory. located in Cleveland Ohio. Built a century ago, the factory consisted of 7 different buldings. Most of them are demolished. Even though the Westinghouse Electric Company was established in 1886, it didn't reach Cleveland until 1894. Founded by Thomas Edison, Westinghouse is best known for its notable enginners who worked for the company including Nicola Tesla and William Stanley. For several decades, the westing house company rivaled General Electric and it was used for lightning equipment production before it was abandonned in 1979. It since tended to be explorer by some urbex amateurs. The Blawk WIdow's interrogation scene from Avengers movie in 2012 took place here by the way. 10 years, Chris made the trip to the abandonned factory. Disturbingly gunshots can be heard in the distance less than 5 minutes into the recording. For the past few years, Cleveland has been ranked as top 10 most dangerous cities in the US. Chris found a mattress on the floor as he entered in the abandonned b uilding, meaning someone was sleeping here recently. Footage goes creepier as Chris enter in a serie of dead ens under the Leaky molding ceiling. At some points during his exploration of the basement, he makes comments about the strange noises he hears from somewhere on that floor. At first he thinks it's from an animal.
Alarmingly he finds shell casings on the ground from what was probably from a 9 mm handgun. Police departments often use abandonend buildings and complexes for exercices so maybe it could be that. As he walks down narrow corridors, things get more disturbing. After 20 minutes of exploration, Chris runs into a haunced over man without a light at the far end of the room. He asks if he needs any help but the man doesn't move or answer. He left him alone Minutes later, Chris decides to come back to give him 20 dollars but when he goes back to the room, the man is no longer here. Squatters tend to act agressively towards unwanted visitors so this could be dangerous. And they know the place better than anyone. Chris then notices bats flying around the basement. At the far left, the man from previous is staring at Chris, hidden. But Chris doesn't notice. Later the squatter can be seen walking outside his cars passed by the sides of the building. Just when he decides to head out, he hears a cell phone vibrate indicating that there are more people hiding in the darkness. Chris plays it safe and leaves the building. Since then he didn't upload any other video of the westling house. Another case happens in Tartu in Estonia. It was uploaded to youtube in August 2016. A group of 4 teenagers visit an abandonned sauna that was built more than a century ago, in 1915 back when Estonia was still part of the Russian empire. After fulfilling its purpose for 80 years, the sauna was decommissioned in 1995, leaving the building abandonned. for 23 years until 2018 when it was fully renovated into a beauty salon. During exploration, as usual with abandonned building, mold growing on walls, heater s covered in a thick layer of dust. The floor is full of holes and the entire structure looks like it could collapse at any point. The teenagers pass by some disturbing messages on the walls. Also some drawings of stick figures graffitied on the walls in some of the other rooms for the first few minutes of visit. Outside of messages and some belongings, there is no indication of someone being here or having visited the location recently. However after 20 minutes of visit, one of the teenagers finds a door frame covered by a curtain and they decide to explore the room. As one fo the explorers shine a flashlight to the room, gut wrenching scream can be heard. and the 4 teenagers run out of the building in panic. The boys get into their car to flee from the location. It was probably a homeless resident of the abandonned building who wasn't expecting visitors. They obviously never went back to the abandonned sauna again. In March 2022, youtuber Chris and Meg uplaoded a new video where they showed footage of their visit to a rundown old farmhouse somewhere in the UK. They imagined they found an entry point through an open window around the side of the house. Based on the state of disarray the farmhouse is, somebody hasn't maintained it for quite some times. Floor is covered with leaves and cobwebs. Shoes look dusty and unused and there are even a couple of animals lying on the floor along with some shotgun shells lying on top of a bedside table. The only indication that someone could have been here recently is one of the light bulbs in one of the bathroom who looked relatively new. Some of the clothes in the closet looked only gently used. Based on pictures found on shelves and on walls, a family with at least 4 childrens used to live here. Walking in the upstairs bedroom Chris didn't notice someone was asleep. Uploaders blurred the women's face out of respect of her privacy, it's clear that she is pretty old. During the conversation, she said that she doesn't have a family that could take her to live somewhere else less depressing. Out of sheer kindness Chris and MEg keeps the lady company, try to understand her situation. They ask the lady, named Jane, questions about how she ended living all alone in an abandoned farmhouse. Disturbingly, Jane mentions that she has been living in this abandonned house for almost 3 decades, almost 30 years, since 1993. Chris and Meg offer their help but she seems hesitant to accept anything from them, claiming she is fine living in here the way she does. She mentions that the man working at the farm house knows she is there and they bring her food and water everyday.
At the end, the couple agrees with Jane to visit her again soon. In the ending caption, Chris explains that the man reaching out to him also knew that Jane was living here and that the farmer also lives in the Farmhouse with her. The men mentionned that she chose to live in these terrible conditions anyway. He mentions that Jane's husband is up there constantly to make sure she is okay but she doesn't accept his help very easily. Jane mentionned that she had only the farm guy for her care but the man who knew the farmer told Chris that she also has a brother trying to take care of her. Chris continued diggig for information and foud that the farm was not on any land registry records. There was another property on Jane's name that she owned between 1986 and 2015. After visiting it, Chris mentionned that it was as unkempt and beat up as the Farmhouse itself. Chris decided to contact adult social services. They answered saying that they didn't want to impose on her life now knowing that the farm could potentially be owned. No further updates on the old women since then. Robert Fulton Elementary is an elemntary school in a rough neighborhood of Cleveland Ohio. The building has been abandonned since 2010. After complaints from residents who mentionned that the abandonned building was an eye sore and a potentially crime hotspot and that it was lowering the value of their properties, the mayor of Cleveland annoucned plans to turn the rundown old building into a high quality mixed income housing unit for the community. During the meantime, in May 2023, Chris Hill again from youtube channel Urbex Hill uploaded a video where he visits this abandonned school a second time, the first video about this school being back in 2022. During this first visit he heard strange humming, chanting, creaking and banging noises from different rooms. Still Chris decided to visit the school again in 1 am. Just over a decade ago, childrens were learning in those classrooms, running and playing in the halls. Now it looked like something out of a horror movie. The eeriness of the location, the pitch darkness and the extreme state of decay of the building all contribute to the school's incredibly creepy atmosphere. For a building abandonned for almost a decade and a half, this building was in a worse state than most buildings that have been abandonned for way longer. As he ventures deeper into the school, Chris hears strange noises. The underlying structure in some of the rooms on the upper floor seem extremely unstable. But Chris shows his expertise of urban exploration by avoiding surfaces that crack under his feet.
After 15 minutes of exploring the top floors, Chris goes doww into the basement which is probably the most deteriorated part of the school. As he explores the dark rooms, he finds some indications that other people could be living here. He also finds what appears to be a boiler room that has been flooded with water. Around the 30 minutes mark, a loud banging noise can be heard coming from one of the rooms. It becomes clear that Chris is not alone. As he steps into a classroom he finds an eerie message on the chalkboard saying : " Don't explore alone. " Also a paper sign on that door that reads " Keep out. " Despite the clear warnings he goes inside. He finds more signs that somebody is living there. There is where things taking a disturbing turn.Fearing for his life after hearing the blood curling scream, he sprints out of the building to safety, hoping that the man wasn't following him. Looking at the footage at home after, he caught something that he didn't see at first. In the distance, a man's shadow can be seen walking towards one of the rooms. It's not clear where he went at. But it's likely that he has been watching Chris all along. The room was probably the man's home. From the squatter's perspective, it was probably also terrifying to see a random man pull back the curtain of his room. In October 2019, youtuber Baker X Derek uploaded an urbex footage. He was a tour guide from San Bernardino, California. One day when he was riding with his motorcycle, he noticed an abandonned house on the top of a hill. He decided to take a look at inside. From the very beginning of the footage it becomes clear that someone already has been here and that it was probably not the original owners of this house. You can tell this house used to be beautiful before it was vacated. Even in the middle of the day, it was still a creepy place to visit. He goes down to explore one of the rooms on the bottom floor and this is where he hears a disturbing shoot. He makes a run for it. Eventually he gets back on his motorcycle and flees the location. Viewers tend to think that the noises were made by a homeless person who warned Derek to get out of his home. Squanders tend to use darkness as a tool when someone comes into their building unannounced. A basic rule in urbex is that if you hear a loud noise upon entering a room, you should probably leave. In central Otario, Canada a small community south of Port Elgen known as North Bruce. To the locals however it's known as the devil's elbow. According to John from his youtube channel Exploration Unknown, reason for the name was that there was once a high priest living in the mansion in which people on the town used to think there was paranormal activities due to the occult rituals the priests used to perform at his home. Since them the mansion has been abandonned. Due to chilling atmosphere or cketchy past, no one want to live or go in there. According to John some renovations were made sporadically since the mansion was vacated but when the video was uploaded in 2019, it was still abandoned. In comparision to most old abandoned buildings, the mansion seemed in relatively good shape except for the garage. After 5 minutes of exploration, John hears strange noises upstairs but they seem to quiet down as soon as he climbs the set of stairs. As he goes aroudn upstairs, the noise grow louder. The one making noises doesn't respond and continues to hide his noises.But then something terrifying happens. A man's voice can be heard screaming " I am going to kill you. " It's unknown if the man in the house had bad intentions or just wanted to mess with him. Probably not an other explorer since in the explorer community they tend to stick to an order to help keeping creepy locations safe to visit. If it was an explorer, it would be out of ordinary.
